I wonder, can you set up and draw a quick still life?
I dare you to take five-ish minutes to set up a quick still life and sketch it.
Using objects and materials around you right now, can you set up a compostion to sketch? Bring in objects of different scale, textures, and patterns. I love to bring in fabric (t-shirts, blankets, napkins) to drape with.
When the still life has been quickly composed, take 2-3 minutes to draw. Look for the big shapes and don’t worry if it looks a bit wonky. For an extra challenge try not to pick up your pen from the paper.
Enjoy all the wonderful shapes that flow together.
