I wonder, do you want to make a wonderful puddle of color?

I dare you to add water to a fully colored sheet paper. What will happen?

Take five minutes and a handful of non-permanent markers and pens to fill a sheet of white card stock or watercolor paper with patterns and color.

After five minutes, get a cup of water and paintbrush gently drop and lightly brush the paper with water. Play with how the water softens the marks on the paper and blurs the colors into one another. When your paper has some nice inky puddles (and before it turns into a single giant puddle), grab another sheet of paper and and press it on top of your inky marks. Give the top paper a good press and then pull the two sheets apart.

You now have two playful surfaces to add new marks to, to cut and collage with, or to enjoy on their own. My paintings might turn into a new designs for fabric.
