Folds: Week Four

100 days of folds

About week four

I’m still studying materials and how to rethink or re-shape them. I played with the boxes I use to ship artwork and an unstreched primed canvas and folded folded them into art objects. Fabric made an appearance again and I would like to develop a language with fabric (as art) in my practice. Where does making with fabric cross the line as craft, or quilting, or artisan work? Fabric is interesting because of our daily connection and personal relationships to clothing and towels, and curtains, and blankets, and pillows. There is something to say in the every day costumes we wear, daily habits, decoration, play, and confidence. It’s a puddle of something that I’m trying to figure out. I also made an appearance as a fold this week. The performance of a fold.
